Krewe Members,
We hope that everyone had a wonderful
summer and found a cool place to avoid the summer heat. If you were not able to attend the Family
Summer Social, you missed a wonderful party hosted by our reigning King Chris
Bergeron. We had hot dogs & ice
cream sundaes and the children (young & young at heart) were able to swim
in the pool & enjoy the waterslide & jumper. Even a little rain & lightning didn’t
dampen our party, just got us out of the pool for a while! It was a wonderful afternoon with friends!
Thanks again Chris for your wonderful hospitality!
We had New Member Orientation in September.
New members Jerry and Tammy Leblanc hosted the get together at their very own
Big Daddy’s Sports Grill. Their
wonderful staff served a great gumbo & potato salad. Thanks to Jerry &
Tammy for a great evening!

We
have some fun socials coming up in November that you will not want to
miss: the Ladies Wine/Tea Garden Party. Ladies bring a tea cup & saucer or a wine
glass to exchange. Of course, we can’t
leave the men out, so they will have the Annual Beer Exchange. Men bring a six pack of their favorite beer
or non-alcoholic beverage to exchange.
You should have received your invitations in the mail by now!
The Famille New Years Eve party will be held
at Marilyn’s again this year! What a
great way to bring in the New Year with great friends, a wonderful breakfast
and a great band (Southbound) to dance the night away. It’s a night you don’t want to miss! You will receive an invitation, but you can
also purchase extra invitations for $75.00 per couple. What a great time to introduce new couples to
your krewe.
Mardi Gras 2012 is right around the corner and
we will be ready to roll real soon! Our
theme this year is “Famille’s Birds of Paradise” and the ball will be held on
Feb. 11, 2012 at the Lake Charles Civic Center.
Now is the time to be thinking of skits and decorations for your table. Be watching for up to date information
coming your way soon by e-mail or on the website
www.krewedelafamille.com. Remember you will receive a total of 3
invitations for the Annual Ball- 1 for yourself and 2 to invite 2 couples. Additional couple invitations may be
purchased for $150.00 per couple.
We will be participating in the Children’s
Parade on Sunday, 2/19/2012. We are
going to have a t-shirt design contest.
Have your child/grandchild that will be riding in the parade submit a
Mardi Gras picture. A design will be
chosen and we will have t-shirts made using the winning design. The t-shirts may be purchased from the krewe for
$10.00 and will be worn for the Children’s parade only. Submit the drawing with your Favor Order Form
(address below).
We will also have a float in the Krewe of
Krewes parade on Fat Tuesday, 2/21/2012.
All riding MUST wear the Krewe parade “jester” costume. A fee of $10.00 per person is charged to ride
on the float. Don’t wait, because it
will fill up quickly! If you need a
parade costume, send an email to krewe.famille@yahoo.com
and we will send the information to you.
These costumes are made and the seamstress will need enough notice to have them ready for the parade!
We
are attaching the FAVOR Order Form. You can choose from doubloons, cups, and the traditional Mardi Gras mask designed for
our theme! These make great gifts for
your guests! Also on the bottom of this
form, please let us know the total number that will be attending the ball
(including yourself).
